Gazler.ca — Terms of Service

1. Acceptance
Gazler.ca ("Gazler", "we", "our", "us") operates the website at https://gazler.ca and any installable (PWA) version of that website (the "Service").
By using the Service you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
2. What Gazler is
Gazler displays fuel prices at Quebec service stations, lets you compare them, and finds the cheapest station along a driving route between two addresses.
Price data comes from the Régie de l'énergie du Québec's official public feeds. Gazler does not collect, accept, or publish user-submitted prices. Retailers report their prices to the Régie; Gazler re-publishes that data with routing and comparison tools on top.
Gazler is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by the Régie de l'énergie du Québec, nor by any fuel retailer or brand shown on the Service.
3. Price accuracy — read this one
Prices shown are a copy of the Régie's published data, refreshed approximately every five minutes. They can differ from the price at the pump for reasons outside our control, including:
- delay between a retailer changing its price and reporting it;
- delay in the Régie's own publication;
- stations that are closed, out of a given fuel grade, or no longer operating;
- transcription or feed errors upstream.
Verify the posted price at the station before you fuel. Gazler is an informational tool, not a price guarantee and not an offer to sell.
Route results, detour times, and distances are estimates produced by third-party routing software. They are not driving directions and do not account for traffic, closures, or road conditions. Follow the road, the signs, and the law — not the app.
Prices for membership-gated retailers (for example Costco) are shown as published and are flagged as requiring a membership. Gazler does not verify membership eligibility.
4. Eligibility
You must be at least 14 years old to use the Service. If you are under 14, a parent or guardian must consent on your behalf before you provide any personal information.
7. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use the Service for any unlawful purpose;
- scrape, crawl, harvest, or bulk-download the Service, or use automated tools against it, without our prior written permission — the Régie publishes the same source data publicly, so take it from the source;
- interfere with, overload, or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure;
- attempt to gain unauthorized access to any system, account, or data;
- reverse engineer or copy substantial portions of the Service;
- upload or transmit malicious code;
- remove, obscure, or alter the attribution to the Régie de l'énergie du Québec.
8. Intellectual property
The underlying price data originates from the Régie de l'énergie du Québec and is published under its own terms; we claim no ownership of it and credit it on every page that uses it.
The Service's software, design, interface, database structure, compiled and derived data (rankings, averages, route results, historical snapshots), and the "Gazler" name and branding belong to Gazler or its licensors. Do not copy, distribute, sell, or exploit them without written consent.
9. Third-party services
The Service depends on and links to third parties, including:
- Railway for hosting;
- CARTO for map tiles;
- LocationIQ for address search and autocomplete;
- OSRM (via LocationIQ's directions API) for route calculation;
- Google Maps and Waze, via outbound navigation links you choose to click;
We are not responsible for third-party content, availability, accuracy, or privacy practices. Your use of them is governed by their terms and is at your own risk.
11. Availability
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". We may change, suspend, or discontinue any part of it at any time, with or without notice. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation, and the Service depends on upstream feeds and third parties that can fail.
12. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Gazler is not liable for:
- inaccurate, stale, or missing prices or station information;
- savings you did not obtain, fuel or travel costs incurred, or time spent;
- decisions made based on route results, detour estimates, or alerts;
- service interruptions, data loss, or third-party failures;
- indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages.
Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the greater of the amount you paid Gazler in the preceding twelve months (currently zero, as the Service is free) or CAD $1.
Nothing in these Terms limits rights you have under the Quebec Consumer Protection Act or other applicable law that cannot be waived by contract.
13. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Gazler from claims, damages, losses, and costs arising from your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of applicable law.
14. Privacy
Your use of the Service is also governed by the Privacy Policy.
15. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access at any time if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms. Sections 8, 12, 13, 17, and 18 survive termination.
16. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. The revised version will be posted here with a new effective date. Material changes will be announced on the site before taking effect. Continued use after that date constitutes acceptance.
17. Language
These Terms are published in French and English. The French version prevails in case of any discrepancy, in accordance with the Charter of the French language.
18. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Quebec and the federal laws of Canada applicable in Quebec. Disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the judicial district of Laval, Quebec, subject to any mandatory consumer-protection rules that give you the right to sue where you reside.

20. Entire agreement
These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between you and Gazler regarding the Service.
